List of the Most Popular Promotional Items in 2012
Austin, Texas: A new report from the Promotional Products Association International shows which categories of promotional products were purchased in 2012.
No surprise, but wearable of all types lead the list, for the upteenth time. Wearables would include shirts, caps, jackets, etc.
Imprinted bags moved to second place for the first time-due to the large number of imprinted tote bags sold.
“The dramatic increase in imprinted bags is no surprise. We have been seeing more than 20% year-over-year increases in imprinted tote bag orders since 2008″, reports Robert Piller, President of Eco Marketing Solutions.
Imprinted drinkware is now number four on the list, but I would imagine it will take over the number three spot from writing instruments in the near future. Sales of imprinted water bottles and sports bottles have been soaring – and I see no reason for these sales to slow down, as people are becoming more envrionmentally-friendly.
The biggest percentage dropper on the last is calendars, as these have been replaced by digital and online calendars. I see this category continue to drop further, as the market for imprinted calendars is definitely slanted toward an older consumer.
